Volume Four, the Translator’s Afterword
Hello, everyone. The LN version has finally reached the end of the web version. Hooray!
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned some of this elsewhere, but here are the specifics of some of the characters’ speeches. Rin, like a typical Japanese person, speaks politely. Aria’s speech is very concise, she often omits pronouns, and her dialogues often begin with "Mm". On the other hand, Xenon’s speech is rich and full of details. Ed’s speech is cheerful. And Ville’s speech is… normal? To be frank, I haven’t noticed any peculiarities in his speech so far (well, there are surely some peculiarities, I’m just not good enough at Japanese to notice them :)).
Rin addresses everyone with “-san,” Ed addresses Rin with “-chan,” and Noah addresses Rin with “-san.” Everyone else interacts without using honorifics.
Oh, and Gomamiso uses the character “朕” to refer to itself; it translates as “we; I, the great one; your liege; this emperor”. Out of all that variety, I chose “this me” and sometimes “this royal me”.
Anyway, time for some statistics!
