The Translator's Afterword
My second translation is done.
What can I say, it's too short! The plot has barely progressed from the first chapter. Still, this book is about food, of which there is plenty :). It should be noted that this should not be read—let alone translated—on an empty stomach.
Well, let's get to the statistics.
Total char count: 864,883
Total word count: 151,266
Given that the average length of a single volume of light novels is 50,000 words (according to Wikipedia), that’s roughly like three volumes.
The number of all characters (excluding some non-essential ones, such as guards): 21
Mentions of the characters in the text: 15,295
Ten of the most mentioned characters:
1. Rin: 8,174
2. Ville: 2,583
3. Aria: 1,090
4. Gomamiso: 718
5. Xenon: 576
6. Ed: 559

1. Rin: 13,559
2. Ville: 9,036
3. Xenon: 3,255
4. Ed: 2,425
5. Aria: 1,893 (She's really not saying much)
6. Guildmaster: 979
7. Sheila: 719
8. Gomamiso: 505
9. Ville’s Brother: 241
10. Orca: 181
Anyway, despite the overall shortness, I enjoyed reading and translating "The Forsaken Saintess and her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World".
A freezing fall morning, November 13, 2024.
