The Translator’s Afterword
Phew, I finally translated a web novel into English for the first time.
It was enjoyable experience. Of course, I wish the dialogs were longer, as well as the chapters. And many characters should have been given more attention. But the main thing is that the heroine develops over the course of the story: she becomes stronger, finds a hobby, learns to rely on others, finds a soulmate, etc.
Since all the characters are highlighted in the text, it’s a shame not to take advantage of this to create some statistics.
Total char count: 766,226
Total word count: 131,731
Given that the average length of a single volume of light novels is 50,000 words (according to Wikipedia), that’s roughly like two and a half volumes.

Will I take something else to translate now? Not yet, as practice has shown, two projects at the same time are a bit much for me.
I hope you enjoyed the "The Saint Whose Engagement Was Broken When She Became Too Perfect is Sold Off to a Neighboring Kingdom" as much as I did.
Well, I don’t like writing afterwords, so bye everyone, see you in my other translations.
A warm spring evening, March 26, 2024.
Thank you for the awesome translations! I'm not overwhelmed by the story itself, but I think you did a fantastic job of making it more readable with your layout
ReplyDeleteJust finished reading this and I must say thank you for your hard work. There are many translators out there, but there are only few translators who put quality works, but there are even fewer of you guys who put effort and dedication to the finer details in order to make it easier for us readers to understand the flow of the story. A job well done would be an understatement to your hardwork, but a job well done nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this translation. It was very well done! Everyone can appreciate the story better with a good translation and quality format like what your site offers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your hard work! Your translation was incredible! I lost interest in the story itself about 75% of the way.. but persevered because of the wonderful translation! Thank you again!
